Membership

If you have any questions, please get in contact with our membership lead, which you can do via our contact page.

IThree things to know…

 1.  You must register before you come along for the first time

Before you can come along, you need to register with JustGo .  This is a membership system provided to us by Paddle UK.  It’s important to know that you DON’T have to buy a Paddle UK membership to join our club, you only have to register on the website and then link to Bromley Canoe club.  We have put together a quick guide here – here.

We then provide you with a taster membership which lasts for 4 weeks where you can join us at Sevenoaks Leisure Centre or at our Chipstead lake sessions (Summer only).  The cost is £7 per session.  This lets you find out if you like us before you join.  When you become a member, this reduces to £5 per session.   If you already know all this, you’re welcome to join us straight away (£30/24 for adults, £20/16 for children, please see below).

To give you an idea about what our sport is all about, and to introduce some of the basic safety advice, Paddle UK  have an Introduction to Paddlesport page on their website.  We strongly recommend you read it first – you can find the pages here.

2. Where we meet

Our main meeting place is at the swimming pool in Sevenoaks Leisure Centre, Buckhurst Lane, Sevenoaks TN13 1LW.

The Centre is the best place to join us for the first time as we have to take you through some safety drills in a safe environment.

We meet every Monday evening (except bank holidays) from 8pm until 10pm.

8pm until 9pm is reserved for youth members and their parents to paddle (15yrs and under)..

Those 16 and over can join us from 9pm til 10pm.

3. Paddling with us for the first time

You must book on an induction session with us by contacting enquiries@bromleycanoeclub.org.uk.

We need to train you to do a capsize drill and show us you can swim two lengths of the pool.  This applies to everyone, irrespective of ability or age.

On arrival for your first time, please introduce yourself to the person sat in the open area of reception who will tell you what to do when you get into the pool.
