On Sunday 29th July, there is a flat water paddle on the river Medway starting at Hartlake Road Bridge for the ‘get in’ and finishing at Yalding.
Meet at the ‘get in’ for 11:00. If you need to borrow any club kit or a boat, please email at firstname.lastname@example.org to make the arrangements to collect the kit required.
This fantastic paddle is ideal for paddlers with confidence and experience of paddling a kayak or open boat and would like to take part in the day paddle. This trip is open to both adult and youth paddlers. However, if it your first time paddling on a river, please email Ed to so we know what experience you have and provide you with guidance on the suitability of the trip.
There will be lock gates and weirs to negotiate, all of which are easily to walk around and ‘portage’ if you are not feeling confident or happy to paddle through these features. The trip will be accompanied by river leaders and coaches.
There will be a mid-day stop over for a picnic, snacks and drinks (which paddlers will need to provide) and there is always plenty of cake to go round!
At the end of the paddle, there will be a stop over at a local pub for refreshments.
All paddlers will need suitable paddling kit for the trip. Please remember, the water on the river can still be cold so you must be have the appropriate clothing for the weather and conditions.
Please ensure you book onto the trip and complete the consent details (for under 18s) and declare any medical information that is relevant.
You will need to have a login for the club website if this is the first time you are booking onto a club trip or event. You will only need to enter your ‘billing’ information once when setting up your club website account.
If you would like to book any club kit or boats, this must also be indicated on the booking (with a £5 charge for a club boat and £5 for club equipment).
