16th, 23rd & 30th June

We are glad to announce that club Members Nick and Craig are able to offer club members the British Canoeing Foundation Safety and Rescue Training course.

This course will be run at chipstead lake over three Friday evenings 16th, 23rd & 30th June, you must be 14 years or over to take part on the course.

This course aims to teach simple and safe skills that can provide the tools to problem solve simple common paddling scenarios in flat/sheltered water regardless of the craft. We are able to offer this to 10-12 members max and in the first instance the club are aiming this at our youth members with any additional spaces for adult members. As part of this course you will learn:

  • Skills which will enable you to ensure the safety of yourself and others
  • Appropriate rescue skills which can be used to help yourself and/or others in difficulty

On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a British Canoeing Foundation Safety and Rescue Training certificate. This is a qualification that is widely recognised. For more information on this course please follow this link

The cost of this course is £5 for British Canoeing members, or £10 for non British Canoeing members – this covers the cost levied by British Canoeing for certification, there is also an additional £4 per evening for the use of chipstead.

We are grateful to Nick and Craig for providing this course to us for free.

Please speak with Rob Hole-Thomas if you are interested in this course. Or contact him via the contact us page on the website
