Not Quite, New Year’s Day Paddle

Flat Water Paddle

River:
River Wey, GUILDFORD.

Meeting Points (Equipment Collection or Get-In):
We will be meeting at Sparrows Den at 09.30 or at the Row Barge Inn in Guildford at 11:00 – postcode GU1 1LW. This pub is right on the river.

Costs:
There is no charge for the trip bar normal boat fee/wear and tear.

Other Information:
Gentle flat water paddle open to (nearly) all (you must have paddled a river or Chipstead Lakes – not just the pool) – subject to flooding/adverse weather conditions. May not be best for our younger members. If in doubt please ask beforehand.

Please note we should be off the water by 4pm so for those you have to work the next day you will have plenty of time to prepare your sandwiches.
Bring a packed lunch and sun cream.

This should be a 3 to 4 hour ‘circular’ paddle and provided we have a beer in the pub afterwards they are happy for us to park in their car park – though obviously as far away from their pub entrance and as conscientiously as
possible. Please.

There is no car ferrying. Just get on and go. Upstream. And come back. Downstream.

There are 2 locks to negotiate. We might be able to go through them if we have a key. One lock is in Guildford town centre and is handy for food, shops, toilets etc. Also if people are short of time it may be possible for them to curtail the trip there. Or meet family members/non paddlers etc

Please book on web collect to confirm attendance. Numbers limited to 30 souls (on the water) to ensure safety.

YOU WILL BE ADVISED BY FACEBOOK, EMAIL,TEXT, WORD-OF-MOUTH, CARRIER PIGEON etc IF THIS TRIP IS CANCELLED or NOT SUITABLE FOR SOME. PLEASE UNDERSTAND IT IS JANUARY 2nd. IT MAY BE VERY COLD &/OR WET

Anyone requiring any club kit should contact me or another member of the committee.

The Trip Organiser and/or Lead Coach have the final say.
